Most hunter case watches are opened by pushing the winding crown. Remember, when closing a hunter case, first push the crown in, then carefully close the lid (push only on the edges because a gold lid is very soft, and if you push in the center it might bend) and then release the winding crown. Snapping the case shut will eventually wear the latch out.
