Information on finding out how old is my pocket watch.
Some pocket watches can be traced by the serial number stamped or inscribed on the movement itself. First you need to find the serial number from the bottom side of the movement. This is where you can see the wheels turning.
In the above Elgin movement the serial number (10572003) is near the top. Do NOT record the serial number from the case--these are not valuable in determining the age of your pocket watch.
