The Army Corps of
Engineers asked for a high grade watch fo W.W. 1, Hamilton made the watches using the 16 Size 992 and 996. These watches were made for use in W.W. 1 only....
The info goes on to state there were only about 1,000 of the watches made for the Corp.of Eng...hence forth the serial number on the face.....It also sounds like there were a couple of different styles of faces used. One has black hour numbers and red second numbers and the number on the face is 737
